50 Year Anniversary of the Whiskey a Go Go
On Wednesday, January 15, 2014, an historic concert was held at the
Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, CA commemorating Johnny Rivers' opening
night at the Whiskey a Go Go exactly 50 years before. Johnny looked and
sounded great. Here is the final encore - Bob Marley's "One Love" and
the traditional folk song "Can the Circle Be Unbroken" Here is the song
list that I recall "Midnight Special," "Seventh Son," "Chicago Bound,"
"Down at the House of Blues," "The Snake," "Poor Side of Town," "Summer
Rain," "Memphis," "Maybellene," "Mountain of Love," "Secret Agent Man,"

"Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu," "Another Lullaby" (duet
with Jimmy Webb), "Route 66," "Whole Lotta Shakin Goin On."
